About Leyte Agri Corp.
Leyte Agri Corp. is the first bioethanol producer and manufacturer in the Philippines with a capacity of 25,000 liters per day. To date, Leyte Agri Corp. has produced 3,661,905 liters and has sold 3,645,464 liters to Pilipinas Shell, Petron, TWA Flying V and Jetti Petroleum. The company remains steadfast in meeting the growing demand for bioethanol fuel.
The subsidiary is also engaged in the manufacture of food-grade (beverage and denatured) alcohol, with an annual capacity of 8 million liters. Its distillery in Ormoc City ably contributes to the economic development of the community, and the local and national governments. The Company has a total manpower of 85 employees.
Leyte Agri produces Liquid Carbon Dioxide (LCO2) for the local industrial market.
The LCO2 recovery plant in Ormoc is a symbol of the Company's deep regard for a safer environment. The Company works closely with the Multi-Partite Environment Monitoring Team (from the DENR, NGOs, LGUs as well as religious and academic sectors) assess the plant’s enactments on environmental safety and protection.
In November 2006, Leyte Agri was conferred with the “International Green Apple Environment Award for Environment Best Practice” at the House of Commons in London. This gives a competitive edge and poses a challenge to its employees to adhere to superior environmental standards at all times.
